As of June 1, 2017 to November 30, 2017, the wage differential between Local 265 and Local 73 is $2.29 per hour.

On December 1, 2017 through May 31, 2018, the wage differential between Local 265 and Local 73 is $1.94 per hour.

Hello SMWIA Local 265,

On December 15, 2016 the Thorogood Shoe Company introduced new pricing policies that effectively ended our exclusive footwear discount for union members. Thorogood has decided to create a level playing field for all online and brick-and-motar retailers by defining a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) for all their footwear.

The change, of course, effected our customers the most - after 1/18/17 we can no longer offer additional discounts on footwear at time of purchase per Thorogood policy - footwear must be purchased at the assigned MAP price - nothing less.

If we didn’t make a change - they could shut us down. They have already stopped shipping to eight websites and Amazon for pricing violations. We were given a polite warning to revise our pricing policies on footwear.

Here’s what we came up with to give union members some value-added benefits. We shifted savings from footwear to other services and accessories. We call it our Union Loyalty Rewards Program. It’s a work in progress.
