Regarding Marathon Health Security Incident

 

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

 I want to inform you that you will soon receive a letter in the mail regarding a recent security incident involving one of our third-party vendors, Marathon Health, a health care network that provides the Union Wellness Center benefits related to the SMART Local 265 Welfare Fund.

 According to Marathon Health, the breach may have impacted some of your personal information, including your name and social security number. Marathon will provide more specific details in the letter you will receive, including steps that you can take to help protect your personal information. For individuals whose SSN was impacted, Marathon will provide credit monitoring and identify theft protection services.  Therefore, please review the letter carefully to ensure you take the appropriate steps to help protect your personal information.

 If applicable, Marathon will also send separate letters to your eligible dependents. Each letter should be reviewed carefully to ensure each individual takes the appropriate steps to help protect any personal information.

 If you have any questions after receiving your letter from Marathon, please reach out to 888-517-6416 Monday through Friday from 8am-8pm Central Time, excluding holidays, beginning October 29, 2026.

 I understand that news of a data breach is concerning. I wanted to make sure our members were informed about the situation, and understood why they may be receiving additional correspondence, and knew where to turn for assistance.
